Thoughts about the Two Worlds We are Living in

I came across this article “How Teens are Really Using Facebook” – it says  how Facebook is losing its teen users. There is a hike in the number of PARENTS using Facebook which correlates to the decrease in FB activity for teen users. The findings say that teens who are aggressive Facebook users are also active in Twitter and Instagram and that slowly lessen teens’ activity on Facebook.

I was just thinking… it makes a lot of sense why the hype of technology seems to be the least sustainable out of the other industries that are, well, human needs. (I am just throwing my amateur thoughts in the air.) We already went through several social networking sites from Friendster, Multiply – both have died – and now Facebook… What I’ve noticed is that, we’re always trying to simulate the REAL WORLD in the Internet and it does a really good job at it for a while until…we notice that it doesn’t quite cut it.

From the days that Facebook was glorified for its social connectivity, even to people from abroad, Facebook is now… sadly… the CandyCrush HUB! Of course, Facebook is MORE than that! (I hope I didn’t hurt its feelings.) The point is no matter how hard we try… the internet will never replace the ingenuity and originality of the real world no matter how old it is.
